Our adventure makes a Real Difference

The vision behind every trip we take is to make a difference in this world by supporting and learning from others. ALL of the funds raised by every Girl on Top go directly to the charity we have chosen for the year. We insist 100% of our cash donation is used on the ground in direct provision of care or services, and visit the charity project to see their work in action. Girls on Top have given more than $100,000 to vital, independent charity projects in the remote corners of the world we visit.

Medical Outreach    On our third expedition from the Andes to the Amazon, Girls on Top began seeking ways we could make a contribution to the people, as well as the wildlife and ecology in this beautiful but desperate part of our world. This year funds we raise will support an inspiring and unique organisation, Amazon Promise, which unites volunteer medical experts from around the world to work with remote tribes and displaced communities in the Amazon.

Girls on Top aim to fund initial work on a medical clinic to service the floating slum town, Belen, near the Amazon port Iquitos, where more than 74,000 people lack most basic amenities required for human health. Outdoor defecation, piles of rotting trash and drinking water contamination are rife. Most children are malnourished. Living conditions are cramped, disease is rife and maternal and infant mortality rates are high. The project is supported by Engineers Without Borders and will have a direct and meaningful impact on thousands of people every year.

$4,000 will fund the entire first stage

Amazon Wilderness Conservation   Over 3 years we have helped fund the tiny Amazon Animal Rescue Centre which rescues and shelters a handful of the million animals poached, smuggled, shot for trinkets, eaten or abused in the Amazon each year – many of which are already endangered. This small but vital project provides homes for animals which in turn educate, inspire and motivate local people and tourists in the region to protect the Amazon and all the creatures within this incredible web of life.

Help us support the Rescue Centre provide medical treatment, shelter, food and care for orphaned, injured and confiscated animals. Come along to one of our events in Melbourne, Sydney or America, sponsor our 200km expedition over the Andes, adopt your own animal from the Amazon or send us a donation.

$150 will feed all the animals at the Rescue Centre for a week.
$100 will pay for 20 local children to join a wilderness education program at the Centre
