I was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of Kathmandu’s generosity on Monday. Salomon fixed me up with my boots too. I’m nearly fully kitted out with only a few things left to get. I tested my new gear against the elements today by braving the rain and freezing winds of St Kilda beach.
Besides being the only person on the beach, questioning my sanity, feeling precious about getting sand on my new boots and smelling like a wet dog (my favourite old wool beanie doesn’t smell so good when made soggy by the rain) I was the warmest walker around!
Check me out in all my gear – perhaps one too many layers on as I was struggling to move my arms! I am still mastering the best combinations of layers!
Well, back to my post at the sewing machine. ‘Card Working Bee’ number two is coming up and I must create jobs for my workers! Huge, huge thanks to Kath, Kate, Mum, Nan and Pip for all their hard work cutting and photocopying and sticking of stickers at the last one. We made brilliant progress!
I am well on track and ready to fill orders on the 15th – so tell a friend and place your order as I have plans to sell out!
Hope you are keeping warm!

Re: There's so much going on its amazing.
Your cards are beautiful Beck. We have them on display now at The Fringe Cafe and have sold a number already. Lots of admiring comments. I know this has been a great deal of work for you, but you must be delighted with the results so far. I'm sure we'll take some more from you when you get back from the big trek .... could be a whole new booming business in the making! Richard x

Go Beck!!! People are loving the cards a Monarch Cakes too - they're selling like hot cakes. I just hope that they don't try eating them, because they do look delicious. Good work! x
