i made some effort today to drag my butt out of bed at stupid o'clock and put on my running shoes and commit to regular exercise. sigh. it's a love hate relationship let me tell you! but a day at a time until semester finishes in 6 weeks i can do a little. i know from countless examples in my history how a little step at a time gets you further than you could have imagined in the beginning. sometimes it seems pointless to only do a little each day. i want it all now!

easy does it, but do it (so they say). the trick for me at the moment (and most of the time) is getting a balance between necessities and what is important in my life. it's very hard for me not to focus on this final semester of my degree when the last 4 years have been working up to this point. at the same time i need to do a little footwork for what i have planned after the study is over. ie hiking in peru!

so, commitment. that's the word i am keeping locked in my left brain. joy and passion and gratitude for the by-product of that logic can stay in my right ;)
