Wow what an event. It began with a few hiccups but turned into a night where I just let it all go (well not too much) and just enjoyed myself. I was IN the moment, I was there and I was enjoying the pleasure that everyone else was getting. I had created this night for everyone there, I was the one responsible for the smiles , the laughs, the cheers, the dancing.

It is way to hard to describe how that feels. I have never felt such a sense of achievement as I did at 11.30 pm that Thursday night. I felt so powerful in what I had done. I felt like I could go and climb that mountain the next day, and it was at this point that I truly understood what Girls on Top is really about. You think you know, but it's not until you feel that weight being lifted off your shoulders that you can think and feel clearly , you can't really stop, because it is such a gush of positive emotion that it spurts you on, and pushes you forward in your life. It is the major step (or mountain) that has been scaled and achieved. It is not about the negative experiences that you had to deal with along the way, but about the way you tackled these experiences that really changes your life.

You are a stonger person and I think the people around you are stronger for how you have acomplished the unachievable, how you have shown that you really are a strong person, and you CAN deal with anything that is thrown in your way. I felt such a strong power during and after my event, that I know showed itself to those around me. If you are positive and excited about what you are doing others will believe you and believe in what you are doing and why you are doing it, they will want to be a part of what you do, they will want to be involved in what you're involved in.

I am just so excited that the night went so well. Our only really hiccup of the night was when none of our auction items had been delivered to the venue. They had been picked up from the offices at 5pm and then just disappeared. I had no idea of the courier company, let alone the name and number of the guy who picked them up, so was starting to stress as that was where most of our income was going to come from. We eventually found out the name of the company and Brooke (our mail girl, and my life saver) took over, she arranged for them to be delivered to the CORRECT venue and took all the phone calls. I'm so glad that she did that for me, as it was one less thing to worry about. I think after that I had a glass of sparkling and then decided to enjoy the night as this was it, everything was out of my hands now. It seemed that others were more stressed around me. Our auction items finally arrived at 8.45pm (the auction was at 9.30pm) and were a great success. We raised over $7000 from the items alone (so I'm very glad they arrived).

Janine Allis (founder of Boost Juice) gave a short presentation to us and she was wonderful, a lot of people were very inspired by what she had achieved. Ted Hamilton our MC was great entertainment, with his entertaining background he had the crowd laughing all night, along with our fantastic magician (with his very own real rabbit in a hat). There were some odd shaped ballon hats going around and some preety bad but funny card tricks!!! I know that everyone had a great night and the casino tables were a great hit, with lots of money being thrown around, the winner of the holiday managed to make $299,000 from only $5,000 (if only it was real money). My sisters band was another great hit, they were fantastic and managed to get many onto the dance floor, I managed to make it after taking my shoes off. (hint: don't buy new shoes that you are going to wear that night). My sister and I ended up swapping shoes half way through the night because my feet were so sore :-)

All in all it was a great success and I am very proud of myself and what I have achieved. I have learnt so much on this journey, and I am going to enjoy the rest of the journey so much, I love all the girls I'm going away with and now I can just look forward to Peru.

Re: Wow what a night

Fantastic Chloe!! You capture the spirit of your night so well, and also the empowerment, passion and joy you got from bringing this event into reality ... and into the shared experience. I know you had a vision that was well beyond your level of experience - you created an event that was totally new to you, something you hadn't even seen done before, and which was well outside your normal skills at work or even your usual interests and hobbies.
I know too there were days when you were able to see this vision become real in your mind and motivate others to help you create it, and days when you found yourself doubting everything. This is the nature of a true creative leap and you made it! Not only that, but you brought so many other people with you on the night.
Most Leaders and Achievers will say the same thing over and over.. the vision is the starting place for success - but the ability to keep believing in it, to stick with it through the process of creation is even more important. That's what separates us all out. And as we go along in life, if we continually practice sticking with our visions, then the tough parts get less and less scary, and the doubts and fears less intense ... then we can achieve great things with more of the passion and determination and less of the anxiousness. Not to mention all the other tricks we learn .. like the vital importance of breaking in our shoes - no matter whether we're in a Melbourne Casino, or on a Peruvian glaciar. And the love and intimacy we discover when our sisters lend us theirs when our feet are bleeding.
Your journey has been a success - not just the night itself, but the whole process, and I hope you are able to draw on this experience, on the euphoric rewards of the joy of the night and also the gifts of the lessons and insights, to empower yourself toward all your goals in life.
When we arrive in the Amazon a month from now, and you see with your own eyes the real power your event will have in the world... when you see that you have set in motion the possibility of thousands of people being able to improve their lives, have access to help and the first chance in their lives to be healthy in childbirth, in infancy, in their day-to-day lives I think you will have a second gush of that incredible feeling you describe on your event ... your efforts have changed the world for many, many others.
Looking forward to hearing more and more about it when we're having a Pisco Sour in Peru in just a few weeks. xxxxx
