Thanks so much for your comments! So much has happened since I last wrote. Card production, both filling orders and keeping stockists stocked has literally become a full time job. Training has been stepping up too. I can proudly say I am making significant progress – and I owe it all to the thousand steps in the beautiful Dandenongs, where most of my training has taken place. Thank you to all of my training buddies so far who spur me on, and the tales of fellow step climbers who share their training purposes – whether it be for general fitness, iron man competitions or in preparation for the Kokoda trail!
I want to take this opportunity also to thank all of friends and family, stockists (Blakes Feast at The Malthouse Theatre, Monarch Cakes, Ammo, Neerim South Home Timber and Hardware and The Fringe Cafe, Bundeena), photographer John Laurie and chocolate, merchandise or card purchasers for their ongoing enthusiasm, support, chocolate sales, hounding of journalists (Nai!), public announcements (Kath!) and generally spreading the word – if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have made it! Special thanks to Gerard Rattigan and Carmel Flannery at Dyno Dynamics for their belief in and sponsorship of this project. Also to local business Label Focus for their support in so promptly supplying me with the labels seen on the rear of my cards!
I was lucky enough to have the amazing never-say-die talents of PR person Nai on my side too. With her help I was lucky enough to appear in the local paper as well as in the A2 guide of the Age recently, giving me the chance to reach great numbers.
Twelve sleeps to go!! I feel like I’m 10 again, counting down ‘til Christmas! There is still lots to do as people offer their suggestions of must have items and I indecisively wonder whether I am better off to have every possible item I could think of at hand and have to carry its extra weight, or go without a few things, ‘wing it’ and feel a whole lot lighter!
Amongst the details of flights, insurance, training, things on my must do list and the filling of last minute card orders I haven’t really had much time to stop and think about what we’re about to do - but I’m sure that realization will hit me any minute.
Last but not least, thanks to Cathie, Cath, Marayka, Kelly, Jen, Juliette and Sarah and to Richard, Sijmen and of course Jade for all their help, support, belief and allowing me to be a part of this.
Next time I write, it’ll be from Peru…

Re: News from home.

Still hard to believe that you are over there and doing what you set out to do (at usual). It is nice not to be tangled in cotton and snowed under in cards but I'm really missing you and all the activity that went with the card production. Beautiful Spring weather here though so definately no complaining. Kath and Gerard moved into their new home today and Nan comes home from hospital on Thursday. She is doing really well and is pleased now that the operation is behind her. The photos on the blog look amazing. If you were able to post a new blog before you left it hasn't appeared by Sat evening but having seen the photos and after speaking to you on Friday I know all is well. If you see this while on your travels, have a ball. Life goes on here but thinking of you all the time. Go girl on top. Love Mum. xxxxx

Poo in Peru!

Hi Becki Poos!
I still cant belive you are in in Peru climbing, riding and sweating it out Katmandu style! i've been thinking about you and wondering how your legs are going - you are going to have the tightest butt by the time you get back.
Same old same old here in Melb. Went to the snow a couple of weekends ago and it was awesome. first time too. my calves were killing me on Monday morning. Work is great, not as hectic as it was a month which is nice and giving us all a bit of a breather before it starts to go crazy again in the next month. what else... car is going good, doing lots of driving and feeling heaps more confident.

hey thanks for the mention too, it was good to read the local article as well.

i hope you're having an amazing time - cant wait to read your next instalment!

luv d.
xx
