Every year a Girls on Top expedition takes place in support of a project supporting life & fostering endeavour on the same continent. Girls on Top seek a new team of women each year, as well as corporate sponsors, supporters, mentors & ambassadors to put their passion, experience & ideas into each project.

The team is chosen based on applicants' reason for applying, willingness to support the ideals of the project and likeliness to flourish & shine as a Girl on Top. Each member pays the basic cost of her trip with the support of sponsors. She is required to raise a minimum of $5000 toward the fund raising target, to share her journey, insights & discoveries with community groups, business & media in order to inspire others to live their dreams, test their limits & that sometimes it's the tougher path that lets us discover just how powerful we can be.

The project requires each team member raise a target of $5 000 toward our charity project each year - this is the mountain she climbs before she heads to the real hills! We like to think of it as a way for each of our team to take an adventure in leadership, inspiration, skills development and courage ... it's also a way that you can join in, support us and be part of the journey.

The fundraising journey

So far we have raised more than $50 000 for charities in Zimbabwe, the Amazon and Himalaya - using our good looks, good vibes, quite a few thousand chocolate chips, a bowling green and the combined work, support and love of our friends, families, colleagues and communities. Each of our 12 team members has been on a huge journey to plan, publicise, sponsor and host an event or project to meet their target - you can read their stories under the Meet the Team links from the Expedition tabs above.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everybody who helped, encouraged, turned up, shared, gave and took away something from our team for themselves this year - we travel as ambassadors for all who have been involved, and for those to come.

Girls on Top 2007 will make our Glamazon expedition in the Peruvian Andes in support of Zoo Peru's work to protect biodiversity in the Amazon, provide habitat or care for animals rescued from the black market or abuse and defend the integrity of the natural balance that connects all of us, everywhere.
